„4-cut“ – The new turning device for automatic 4-side-trimming

First presented on drupa, exhibition visitors from all over the world became enthusiastic by Schneider Senators' technical innovation. The heart of this complete cutting line with jogger and restacker is the hydraulic driven high-speed cutter SENATOR S-Line 137 H.

The „4-cut“ system has a unique gripper system with turning and positioning device for fully automatic 4-side-trimming of printed or white paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminium or other materials without manual handling of the operator. This high-tech machine is equipped with a front table which automatically opens for waste removal, called "TrimmMaster".
     
 

The clou is that Schneider Senator does not need any side gripper and/or slider which are part of all the other machines, that are known in the market today. The microprocessor measures the size of the cutting material and then it is clamped once by an upper and lower turning device in central position.

It is not necessary to remove or reclamp the cutting material (using other machines this is necessary after every cut or after the third cut latest and sometimes with repositioning by a slider). There are two advantages: First the required cycle time is reduced to a minimum (the Schneider Senator „4-cut“ system is more than twice as fast as other systems). Second, moving of the permanently clamped cutting material is not necessary and hence an inexact cut result is nearly impossible, because there is no need for reclamping.

During the test phase with S-Line 137H „TrimmMaster“ (clamp opening: 170mm) the cycle time for a complete 4-side-trimming was less than a minute. The turning device works with a turning speed of 3 sec. for 90° and up to 1 to. clamp pressure. In the mentioned test phase we cut printed carton with 240g/sqm.
